Domestic micro-cogeneration

Countries with amount of population living outside urban areas, like the US, domestic micro-cogeneration units are growing. The advantage is that with only a single external energy supply (natural gas) overall energy production (electricity + heath) reaches higher efficiencies (90 to 96%) and thus overall cost diminish significantly if compared with “fuel+grid electricity” external purchase. Consequently, natural gas distribution grids are expanding in rural areas in several countries.
